Hagberg’s Made-From-Scratch Soups

Soup’s on! Like everything we do at Hagberg’s, our soups are created to impress. Fresh ingredients and creative recipes combine with the expert craftsmanship of our Saucier, Jared. (In case you’re wondering, Saucier is a fancy way of saying “Soup Maker,” and one taste of these savory soups, and you’ll understand why simply calling Jard a soup maker just won’t cut it.) During soup season, Jared is busy chopping, dicing, and stirring the pot in the Hagberg’s kitchen with all kinds of fresh and delicious soups – from classic Chicken Noodle and Tomato Pesto to Jambalaya and Bacon Cheeseburger, and each weekday, we feature a different one.

Here Are A Few Of Our Favorite Soups

We love soup season at Hagberg’s. It gives our expert kitchen staff the opportunity to mix things up a little bit and create some truly extraordinary soups. But nothing this good lasts forever. To keep them fresh and delicious, our soups are only made in limited batches, so get ’em while their hot! Here are a few of our favorites you’ll find weekdays at the deli.

Brocolli Cheese

This creamy comfort food classic is the ideal soup for any season, but it tastes especially delicious during sweater weather. Hagberg’s Broccoli and Cheese soup is awesomely cheesy, rich, and creamy. And it’s made right here in our kitchen with simple ingredients, including our own secret soup stock and blend of cheeses. Hagberg’s Broccoli and Cheese soup makes a meal all by itself. Or pair it with a sandwich from our deli.

Chicken Tortilla

All the flavors of a taco you eat with a spoon! Corn, beans, chicken, and tomato are added to our chicken stock to create our version of Chicken Tortilla Soup. With a dash of our pepper blend, Hagberg’s Chicken Tortilla Soup is full of flavor with just enough spice to give it a little kick.


A customer favorite, Hagberg’s Jambalaya recipe is a secret, but the ingredients are classic cajun! This soup may have been born in Louisiana, but its famous flavor combination is deliciously at home right here in Minnesota. Hagberg’s Jambalaya is spicy but not too hot with a blend of our andouille sausage, rice, tomatoes, celery, onions, and peppers.

Mushroom and Brie Bisque

Smooth and rich, this silky indulgence features portobello mushrooms, brie cheese, and our own creamy mushroom sauce. The mild, buttery flavor of the brie blends perfectly with the earthy flavor of the mushrooms. Hagberg’s Mushroom and Brie Bisque makes a great meal starter or side. Or enjoy it with a sandwich from our deli.

French Onion

Hagberg’s French Onion Soup is a perfect example of how combining seemingly simple ingredients with a bit of Hagberg’s kitchen magic can create such a scrumptious soup. Caramelized white onions and garlic take a dip in a bath or Hagberg’s homemade beef broth to create a sweet and savory flavor combination that is hard to beat but deliciously easy to enjoy!

Bacon Cheeseburger

You’ll find Hagberg’s famous bacon in several of our soup recipes, but this soup features it front and center! Hagberg’s Bacon Cheeseburger Soup is a thick and creamy creation that features our beef broth as a base loaded with Hagberg’s ground beef, bacon chunks, and cheddar cheese. Then, we add a little tomato and onion to complete the cheeseburger experience.
